Super Easy Trifle Recipe

 Super Easy Trifle Recipe, honestly - its like the quickest dessert ever. (I am sure most trifles are though):

What you need:

  • 300ml Cream
  • 2 x Jelly mixes
  • 2 tins of mixed fruit salad
  • Custard
  • 2 sponge cakes
  • Flake and cherries to decorate

Break the sponge into pieces and place a layer in the bottom of the bowl. Next melt the jellys into 2 containers (as per the packet instructions) - I left mine to cool down slightly. Then pour a little of the jelly liquid over the sponge, followed by a layer of custard, and then the mixed fruit. Repeat the process until you reach the top of the bowl.

I made this the day before, and added semi whipped cream, along with a flake chocolate and cherries on the day - this way the cream does not set too much and does not pick up any of the colours from the cherries etc.

It’s really simple to make, and apparently it tastes good – I don’t eat trifle, but it looked great, and I only received compliments, so can’t be too bad.

One thing I think I did wrong was, I think you are supposed to let the jelly set slightly, so its runny/globby, and then spoon that in over the sponges – mine was liquid, and I think the sponge just soaked it all up – but it worked fine. You can also drizzle sherry onto the sponge if you want,
